Rezoning Passed 5-0 – Feb. 8th

Friend of CHOA,

Rezoning passed with a unanimous 5-0 vote by CIty Council!!  Amazing! Stunning!  This is a great step for housing and affordable housing in Arcadia.

Thank God!

You helped make this happen.  You prayed.  You emailed and talked to City Councilmembers.  You came to our gatherings with 3 City Councilmembers, sharing your perspective and housing story.  You created videos.  Thank you.

This is a great example of how advocacy makes a direct impact on our community, building housing and affordable housing.

The next step is the Inclusionary Ordinance — the percentage of affordable units in each new development.  We will keep you posted when that vote comes before City Council.

There is so much going on with housing in Arcadia, another email will go out next week.  Below is the information about the Housing Element, as well as the Rezoning map, if you would like to review that one more time.

Thank you again!

Peace,
–Mike Veerman

If you would like to see the actual map of all the areas where  the rezoning will take place, see the link below.

Map of Proposed Rezones

Below is the chart of how the 3,214 new residential units will be broken down by the 6 Strategies (see last 6 rows below), and by Income Level (see the 5 columns across).  This spreads out the new housing in many places around Arcadia (see the map link above), and provides folks at different income levels to get housing.
