Homeless Count – January 2023

New Year, New efforts – January 2023

Hello friends of CHOA,

Happy New Year!!  Let’s make this a year of more engagement towards creative housing in Arcadia.  We are slowing moving out of the holiday mode, and need to get back to being active again.  We need you.  Join us.

Homeless Count:

Here’s where we need to start moving: the Homeless Count.  Since 2019, to their credit, the City of Arcadia has earnestly counted those unhoused in Arcadia.  We show below Arcadia’s Homeless count since 2019.  Notice, it keeps rising.  Why?  First, we need to know how many unhoused people are in Arcadia.  Then, we as a community…especially the faith community…need to constructively work on lowering this count, by caring for each person, with their particular needs and history.

Consider participating in the Point in Time (PIT) count.  It is coming up next week, on Tuesday, January 24th.  We start at 8pm, getting our assigned areas as we meet at the Arcadia Community Center.  For the most part, we stay in our cars, work in teams that have different roles as driver, navigator, and counter.  We use an app, and need to watch a video to learn how to download and use the app.  Sign up using one of the 2 web sites below:
